A minimalistic approach to safety gear for sure. I’m internally debating about taking a rope, ice screws and slings, but the climbing routes up the mountains on the list are not that difficult. No belaying or abseiling required.

I might rope up on glacier traverses, but since I do this trip on my own, I’ll have to rely on finding a fitting team while on the peak. It’s usually easy to talk to people in the mountain huts before you leave, so I’m optimistic. I have no issues doing the peaks solo, but crevasses would make it a matter of luck. I’d rather like to avoid them.

As a test I did a solo-ascent of Mont Blanc with a setup like shown above; no issues. This year I’ll do it again, with a paraglider.
